Fareed ud-din Abu Hamid Muhammad Bin Ibrahim was called Attar, the perfumer. Though little is known with certainty about his life, it seems that he was born in A.D. 1120 near Nishapur in North West Persia (the birthplace of Omar Khayyam). The date of his death is uncertain but is given A.D. 1230 so he lived for 110 year. Most of what is known about him is legendary, inactively the death at the hands of a soldier of Genghis khan
